disney princess wallpaper borders
69If you finally decided to let your little princess have her own room, she might want to decorate her new bedroom with the Disney Princesses and one of my favourite ways of adding this little touch of fairytale magic is to use Disney wallpaper borders.
Young daughters love pink, magic, glitter, sparkle, and anything girlish. You yourself will probably get a kick out of decorating your little princess' bedroom with Disney Princess decor; so have some fun with it. You should definitely take advantage of this opportunity because once your daughter grows up, you will be lucky if she allows you to touch anything in her room – or you may end up having to argue with her about why it is not a good idea to paint the walls black!
Most girls love Disney princess because they also dream to be princesses. And what better way to make their dream come true than to make them feel like a princess in their own bedroom.
One very important aspect when decorating a bedroom is the wall. You can paint the walls or put wallpaper on them. And if you still want them to make more interesting, you should think about putting up some Disney Princess wallpaper borders.
This simple touch can greatly improve the overall look of the bedroom, especially if you've chosen to paint the walls. Using wall paper borders is so much easier than wallpapering the entire room and it lends a subtle touch to the overall theme of the room without overwhelming things.
So here's a few ideas to decorate your own daughter's room using Disney wall borders.
Choosing a Disney Princess theme
You can pick wallpaper borders with all the Disney Princess characters. The borders should have Ariel, Aurora, Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Pocahanas, Mulan and Jasmine. This means that the overall theme focuses on the eight Disney princesses, not just on one.
This can get a little busy though, especially since each princess has her own colors. This is why you will often see Aurora, Cinderella and Belle together, but not the others – their colors are all pastels and blend together easily.
So it may be easier to focus on one character, your daughter's favourite princess, then you can choose a border with a single Disney Princess character. This depends on your daughter’s preference.
If you have chosen one character, the overall theme of the room can revolve around one character. For example, if she likes Ariel, you can choose an underwater castle theme. If your daughter prefers Jasmine, then you could try an Arabian fairytale theme.
Another thing to think about is to complement the princess decor with friends of the princess. So if you have Ariel bed sheets and comforter, you could choose her friends Sebastian and Flounder as the wallpaper border design. If it is Cinderella, her famous pumpkin carriage will be a perfect border.
If you don't want to use wall paper borders that are explicitly Disney because you are already using lots of Disney licensed products in the room and you don't want to overwhelm it, you can also pick out more generic wall borders that would suit. For example, castle wallpaper borders are perfect for a Disney Princess themed bedroom.
Another tip for decorating your daughter’s bedroom with Disney Princess wallpaper borders is to focus on the bed. Since the bed is the focal point of any bedroom, you can think about using complementary colors on the wall.
If the bed already has a lot of pink on it—pink bed sheets, comforters, pillows, etc.—try to choose a different color for the wall. The color should work well with the colors on the bed. Blue or yellow is a perfect match for pink. Also, Disney Princess wallpaper borders if the walls are fairly plain. If you already have some busy prints on the wall -- with or without the princess, it may simply look a little too cluttered or overcrowded.
