Disney Princess Dolls
66If you are thinking about what gift to give for your daughter or niece, you should consider giving her Disney Princess dolls. These are perfect gifts for small girls because almost all girls love dolls and many of them love the Disney Princess characters, whether it is Cinderella, Aurora, Jasmine, Ariel, Belle, or Snow White.
If you are a woman, you probably grew up
playing with dolls, too—talking to them as if they are real people, brushing
and styling their hair, changing their pretty clothes, and taking care of them. Some
dolls could even be given baths, and you could pretend you had a little sister of your own or practice being a mom.
If you also want your daughter, niece or grandchild to experience the magical fun of let's pretend and role-playing, not to mention simply an opportunity to enjoy the charming fashions, giving her a Disney princess doll for her special occasion -- whether birthday, Christmas or some other event, would be ideal! Here are a few ideas to help you pick her favorite doll.
Disney Princess Doll Sets
Buy your child's favorite Disney Princess character. You can choose a princess based on your own daughter’s personality.
If your daughter is like a classic princess and is very sweet, obedient, and kind to you and your partner, you should consider buying her a Cinderella, Aurora, or Snow White doll.
If your daughter is a bit tomboyish, likes to break rules, and is very adventurous and always full of mischief, Ariel and Jasmine are the perfect princesses for her. And if your little one likes to read books and to study and is very kind to animals, then you should give her a Belle doll from Beauty and the Beast.
If your child does not have a specific Disney Princess in mind or she likes all of these Disney heroines, there are some sets available that are not too expensively priced, so if you wanted to buy her a Disney Princess collection, you could easily do that!
I've included four different sets here that you might want to consider -- my favorite of these is the "Shimmer" set, but the Disney Favorite Moments is very popular as well. Just keep in mind that the Favorite Moments dolls are much smaller and so little fingers might need some help changing outfits from more dexterous adult hands.
Also, you will want to think about what size doll you want to buy. You can get Disney princess dolls known as Favorite Moments which are Polly Pocket sized (a little over three inches) to Barbie-sized dolls (11 inch) and larger dolls suitable for toddlers (such as Princess Sparkle "baby dolls") as well. So think about what types of dolls your child likes to play with and that will steer you in the right direction.

Disney Princess Dresses for Your Dolls
Another fun idea is to take the dolls that your daughter may already have - such as Little Adventures Dolls or the American Girl dolls -- and dress them up as Disney princesses. Both American Girl and Little Adventures make Disney princess dresses for their dolls that are extremely cute!
Since both dolls are 18 inches, their clothing should also be interchangeable and will fit other suitably-sized dolls as well. For example, you can easily dress up Cabbage Patch dolls in the Disney princess dresses that Little Adventures makes. There are also Disney princess fashions made for Little Princess dolls, which are 12 inch dolls with soft bodies.
Also, if you do buy Disney princess dolls, those young ladies can
usually be dressed in other attire too and they come with their own
accessories and fashions that can help make playing with them even more
fun.
For example, take a look at some of these Doll & wardrobe play sets. Ariel has a mermaid costume, everyday clothes,
and a bridal gown. Cinderella, on the other hand, has rag clothes and
princess clothes. And do not forget her famous glass slippers.
If
you are buying fashion sized dolls (11 inches, like Barbie) then you
can also buy clothes that are not purposely made for your dolls. This
really opens things up as you can also buy clothes and accessories that
are not in the story.
You can buy everyday clothes, party clothes, swimsuits, wedding gowns, and so on. Accessories like bracelets, necklaces, tiaras, shoes, and bags are also great additions to complete the princess look. Just raid some of Barbie's attire.
You may also consider buying other characters like the princes, kings and queens, and so on. It will be more romantic and real if your child can replay the story using her own dolls.
Ariel should have her Prince Eric with her and her underwater gang, Sebastian and Flounder. Cinderella should have her Prince charming and her fairy Godmother.
Snow White will not be complete without her seven dwarves. And Jasmine should always fly in the magic carpet with Aladdin.
By including other
important characters, your daughter’s imagination will work full time and you
will have a classic Disney fairy tale re-enactment right at home. It is so much more fun to have several dolls that can play together!
These are just a few of the things to think about when buying Disney Princess dolls. Truthfully, there are so many dolls and options that I didn't show because you'd need a whole website to do it, but I hope it gives you enough to get started. So go ahead and start your Disney Princess shopping spree for your family’s little princess at home.
